Job description

The jobholder will be responsible for the following tasks:

• Provide expertise in outbreak preparedness and response concerning the clinical epidemiological and microbiological aspects of emerging and vector borne diseases;

• Liaise with the network of outbreak assistance laboratories;

• Provide support to outbreak assistance teams in the field of emerging communicable and vector borne diseases;

• Contribute to the development of a long term strategy for outbreak response in the European Union;

• Establish collaboration with European and international partners in response to outbreak of emerging communicable and vector borne disease threats;

• Collaborate in developing material and activities in support of training for outbreak of emerging and vector borne communicable diseases;

• Establishing close working contacts with the other operational units within the Centre.
