Purpose of the post:
The EU Policy Officer monitors developments related to Roma rights at EU level and proposes and implements action as required. S/he supports the Research and Policy Coordinator in the development of policy submissions to the EU structures and networks with relevant non-discrimination and HR NGOs at Brussels level.
Areas of Responsibility:
1. Monitoring developments related to Roma rights at EU level in the EU Council, Parliament, Commission, Economic and Social Committee and their sub committees, etc.
2. Establishing and maintaining a network of key persons in EU and NGOs circles
3. Constantly communicating developments to staff of the ERRC programmes department
4. Contributing to ERRC policy development and analysis in close cooperation with the Senior Research and Policy Coordinator
5. Contributing to policy submissions
6. Identifying and coordinating Human Rights and Roma rights related advocacy campaigns at EU level
7. Coordinating ERRC engagement and input to EU Roma rights related activities
8. Drafting policy submissions to EU institutions under the supervision of the Team Coordinator
9. Providing ERRC policy input to decision makers working on Roma rights at EU institutions
10. Proactively contributing to NGO related undertakings in the Roma rights field
11. Represent the ERRC at EU level as required
12. Undertaking field research in EU countries
13. Coordinating and contributing to EU related projects
14. Suggesting possible project partners at EU level for ERRC projects
15. Regularly providing information and input to the ERRC periodical concerning EU developments
16. Other tasks as assigned by the Team Coordinator
