This, the second ECIME, is built on the firm foundations laid by 13 successful years of the European Conference on Information Technology Evaluation (ECITE). The wider scope of ECIME reflects the increased use of technology to manage information in and between organizations of all types and sizes across the globe. ECIME 2008 will provide opportunities for people working and researching in the field to come together both formally and informally to share their knowledge and expertise. I am sure you will find something of interest.

This year’s conference takes place at Royal Holloway, University of London. Royal Holloway College was founded in 1878 by the Victorian entrepreneur, Thomas Holloway as a college for the higher education of bright young women. Part of the University of London since 1900, Royal Holloway has continued to grow in size and status and now enjoys an international reputation for the highest quality teaching and research across the sciences, arts and humanities. The College is ranked amongst the top ten research-led university institutions in the UK. Royal Holloway is set in 135 acres of Surrey parkland between Egham and Windsor and yet is just 19 miles from the centre of London (35 minutes from Waterloo Station) and just 7 miles from Heathrow Airport. The College is justly proud of its famous Founder’s Building, inspired by the Chateau of Chambord in the Loire Valley, and one of the most spectacular university buildings in the world.
